A sucesful cadet will...
Know and utilize their Cadet Chain of Command
Proper communication is vital and demonstrates your level of respect, maturity, professionalism, and desire to succeed.
Cadets should ask their Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander first for any questions or clarification needed.
*Senior Cadets are required to lead and mentor junior Cadets.
Ensure your parents/guardians are aware of important dates/events and help them utilize our calendar, website and follow social media pages.
Frequently reference the MCJROTC Website, Google Classroom, and Program Instagram account (See below)
Bookmark our website on your chromebook, ensure you have linked our program's Master Calendar to your personal Google Calender and set up notifications - ask for help if you need assistance!
Parents should do the same!
Follow us on Social Media to see us celebrate YOU and stay up to date on all events.
Strive to always be organized and prepard
Consistently arrive with a charged cell phone, Chromebook, RHS Student Handbook, Inkstick/Pencil, and notetaking materials.
If cadets wish to be seen as trustworthy, and ready for leadership roles, this is a great start!
Make decisions on what JROTC Activities you want to join and then... FULLY commitment
LE1 Cadets are encouraged to join as many JROTC Activities they wish, BUT must be mindful of their other school, family, and job commitments, particularly their first year in the program.
It is recommended they only join TWO JROTC Activities so they are not overwhelmed maintaining their academic eligibility and school grades.
LE2 - 4 Cadets are already familiar and aware of competition team requirements, but are encouraged not to take on too many commitments that negatively impact their school eligibility and grades.
JROTC after school activities to join:
1. Competition Drill Team
2. Competition & Community Service Color Guard Team
3. Competition Raider Team
Get Involved
Sign up for service opportunities and look for opportunities to serve your fellow cadets or the program via S-Shops on Mondays.
For cadets planning on attending college or getting a scholarship - these are great stories to talk about in an application.
Utilize the study hall hours on Wednesday - check your grades and ask for help!
Check in on the cadet next to you. Just like the Spartans - we are strongest when we stick together.
Decide to Keep improving!
Cadets can always improve by:
having their uniforms prepared at all times,
studying their knowledge (see link below),
completing physical fitness training and drill on their own time or with fellow Cadets.
Set small academic goals for yourself and chart your progress each Wednesday.
Remember, practice makes perfect.
